About non-founder crew

On a mission to help non-founder employees get what they deserve & understand the game.

After spending over a decade working at tech startups, Alicia Thomas realized there was a glaring issue in the world of startups.

“Most folks in startups are the unsung heroes, working diligently on the company's mission, but often without a clear understanding of what's realistic, normal, or expected.”

From deciphering the intricacies of equity to evaluating a company's health, there's a clear need for more resources and education where individuals can learn from shared experiences.

Meet Alicia Thomas

Alicia Thomas has spent over a decade in the trenches of high-growth tech startups, building brands, rallying communities, and figuring out what actually works when everything is moving fast and nothing comes with a playbook. She's been through the early days, the pivots, the hyper-growth, and the hard lessons that come with each.

Now she's pulling back the curtain on all of it.

Alicia has worked in-house at seven startups and partnered with clients across the globe to scale their marketing through content and community. Most recently, she led brand and community at Postscript. Before that, she was an early employee at Klaviyo (NYSE: KVYO), where she helped to more than 10X the company during its rise to becoming one of the most recognized platforms in the marketing analytics space. She was also a team member at Lattice Engines, later acquired by Dun & Bradstreet.

Her work has been featured on TechCrunch, Performance Marketer, and Shopify. Business Insider named her a rising star in ad tech in 2022. Alicia started at the ground level and worked her way up because she paid attention to the things most people overlook: the unwritten rules, the politics, the patterns that separate the people who survive startup life from the people who thrive in it.
